Le Temps retrouvé
Marcel Proust / Time Regained
Proust’s In Search of Lost Time is, among other things, a novel about our connection to memories of places we have visited and places we have yet to visit. About things that suddenly bring vivid memories back. To me, it is the most design-minded book that is not about design.
I released my French Art Nouveau typeface in Ho Chi Minh City. I named it Au Pont Rouge after the building at the Red Bridge in Saint Petersburg. And the first word I set in this typeface was “Proust”.
I added a graphic drawing of the estate at Tansonville, a reference to Swann’s Way, the first volume of the novel. This is where the immersion in memories begins.
